New Purchases

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.
This is just a quick post showing you all the few, but oh so beautiful purchases I made the other day. Sorry I didn't post it earlier, I do infact have a 'proper' New Year post coming up which i've already written - I spent my New Year babysitting young children and thought it would bring some interest to the many hours I have spent, and currently am spending as I write this, sat on the sofa; sometimes life is so exciting...-which I'll post tomorrow.

How beautiful are these!?

I needed a new concealer so I decided to try something new (If anyone is wanting a concealer this one is amazing). I also bought a new concealer brush, in my defense I did need one and it was only £5...

So the Topshop sale in my town wasn't exactly brimming with beautiful pieces that other bloggers managed to find, and- prehaps a poor effort on my behalf- but this is the only thing I managed to find in the sale. However, with it's chunky gold chain and pearl/gem stone embellished heart, I do think it's a fabulous piece, and somehow has a Meadham Kirchhoff  feel?

Rainy Days

Boyfriend fit Angora mix coat-Topshop
Striped top-Used to be my Mum's
Jeans-From a Vintage stall at Clothes Show
Shoes- Zara
Bag-TK Maxx

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I've just been busy busy busy over this festive period;belated as it may be I hope everyone had an amazing christmas!. Oh and on a similar topic of apology, sorry for the lack of photo's- often, I have this great (or not so) tendency to look like a drug addict in photos...

I got this coat for Chrsitmas, i'd been wanting it so bad and after seeing that it had all sold out in my size on the site, I went into a selfish frenzy that i'm sure all of you are familiar with/experienced before when a piece you want so badly has gone :( haha. But then, of course my wonderful mother managed to find one in one of the stores in my area, hurray!
I'm so grateful for everything I got; I hope you all got you wanted too!

Today I met up with one of my good friends in town, and of course bought a few things, including a very beautiful pair of shoes (I'm fast becoming a shoe obsessive, despite about half a year ago not really having much interest in shoes....what was I thinking). I'll do a quick post of the purchases tomorrow if you'd like?

Nike Air Max and The Last of Christmas Shopping

Fast Love Nike Air max
American Apparel Disco Pants
Black Turtle Neck-Used to be my Mum's
Black cardigan with faux fur trims- Used to be my Mum's
Faux fur coat-Topshop
Bag-TK Maxx

What with it being the year of the Olympics, the appearence of sleek sporty lines and trainers became all the more popular this year amongst the fashion industry. Yet saying this, the trainer trend has never really been 'forced'-or so to speak-and is very often just left to meander alongside the ever evolving fashion world.
However, perhaps it is fair to say that it is a trend that is very often overlooked or discarded by many; maybe because of the many negative connotations which surround a pair of air max...or perhaps people are just afraid of what to pair them with. Still, it's amazing people like Susie Lau from Style Bubble  (her style is simply out of this world) who have inspired me when it comes to opting to wear trainers with an outfit.

I bought this pair of Air Max a few months back, and I can honestly say I'm in love with them.
Since I was on a complusive mission to finish my christmas shopping today (I'm working 9 hour shifts from tomorrow until christmas, sigh) I decided to opt for a more simple/comfortable outfit to run about town.

Feature Post: Precis Winter Fashion

Perhaps deemed ironic, a 5ft 2 (just about) blogger writing a feature for a clothing brand who specialise in selling clothes to the vertically challenged, or should I say in a more respectful tone, petite woman. With an array of clean cuts, feminine silhouettes and high quality fabrics, Precis is a brand which specialise in presenting woman with a simple yet chic aesthetic.

Admittedly, I hadn't really heard of the clothing brand before, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind me saying that I'm probably not their target clientele. However, after Stephanie from Precis contacted me in regards to working in conjunction with them on a post, and having browsed the current collections- whereby I discovered some beautiful pieces; I decided I'd like to present you readers with a post featuring a few of my handpicked fashion findings, and how I would style them.

Oh and I should probably mention that they are currently having a winter sale (yes, the s word that brings a smile to anyones face and a frown to their bank manager), so if like me, you happen to fall in love with any of the pieces I present to you below, or those on the website, then you know what to do....besides, its christmas, right?

Scarlet Textured skirt

Was: £89
Now: £49

Texture, an element that no fashion obsessive's wardrobe is complete without. Often overlooked, it's an essential feature which can transform even the most basic outfit.
I chose this knee length skirt because I think it's perfect. It's pop of a passionate scarlet hue would add a twist to many of your (including mine) favoured all black winter wardrobes.
The versatility of this skirt make it a dream to style. If your wanting to go for a coloured and textured theme, let your creative mind run free; think of wearing it with velvet, lace, chiffon, or layers of knitwear. Or go bolder with printed shirts and embellishment. However, if brighter colours perhaps arent your thing, simply pair it with a simple white blouse, a statement under the collar necklace and a leather jacket/gilet or faux furs.
In terms of footwear, this skirt could be worn with a chunky heeled boot or platform heel, to a more elegant court or ballet flat.

Houndstooth Check Jacket

A fall fashion classic, this year the houndstooth/dogtooth trend has taken the season by storm; and this jacket is another perfect piece by Precis. Clean cut with it's feminine silhouette, not to mention the addition of a contrasting velvet collar, this jacket really is a great yet classic take on the trend.
Keep it monochromatic and chic with black,  pairing it with skirts and trousers. Or, be ostentatious and support the coordinated seperates trend, teaming it with a pair of houndstooth trousers.

Spot Print Blouse

Was: £69
     Now: £39

Influenced by the 1940's/50's and a longstanding favourite to the world of fashion, spots and polka dots have been  popular amongst many. Thats why when I saw this blouse on the site, I had to add it to my collection of pieces to show you. The fact that it's been reduced to £39, and that I am now picturing it paired with a black velvet appliqued tasselled kimono or boyfriend fit blazer and a fedora hat is making it ever so tempting to simply press 'add to bag'....

Abstract Floral Dress

Was:£99
Now:£69

The deep luring gothic tones of this abstract take on winter florals is simply beautiful.
With it's round neckline and tab detail on the side waist creates a soft drape and feminine shapes.
Selling it in the optional colour of green, I'd pair it with a black tasselled kimono, a pair of chunky heeled boots and perhaps far too many rings.

 Camel Sweetheart Top

Was: £39
Now: £19

When I saw this top, one look, and one look only came into mind. It was this paired with a soft pink feathered skirt, a pair of elegant ankle strap heeled sandles, with a pearl embellished clutch.
Perfect? Yes.

Zip Top Black Leather Bag

 Was: £119
Now: £59

I think this speaks for itself.

  Need I say more?

New Shoes: Zara Ankle Strap Heels

Shoes: Zara

Okay so in the midst of doing work and watching the christmas special of the Great British bake off  ( Yes, I'm an avid cook/baking programme viewer, despite not being able to actually cook), I decided I would quickly post photo's of my beautiful new shoes that came today.
From Zara, priced at only £30, I feel these shoes evoke pure elegance. With their clean chic look, they can be styled in a somewhat eclectic way; from rolled up jeans and trousers, to skinny leathers, to knee-length dresses.
Perfect? Yes, perfect.

Vintage Jeans

Turtleneck- Used to be my Mum's
Vintage jeans- From a vintage stall at the Clothes show
Bag- TK Maxx
Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell
Watch- Michael Kors

So I decided to put my Nikon to some use...
This is just a simple outfit of what I wore out to a meal this evening - good food and good company bodes well for a relaxed Friday night.
I'd been lusting over vintage jeans for a while, especially since these beauties have such an eclectic styling range. Seeing them paired with Dr Martens to delicate ankle strap heels determined that I needed a pair in my wardrobe. This was also a clear marker of my evolving style - I went through a phase thinking jeans were deemed as 'unfashionable'?

Anyway, I hope everyones had a lovely friday night.

I'd just like to say thankyou again for everyone who follows my blog and comments on my posts, it really does make my day.

Floral Brocade

Jumper- One of the vintage stalls at Clothes Show Live ( Can't think of the name!)
White blouse-Charity Store
Faux Leather skater-Ark
Boots-Topshop
Necklace-Used to be my gran's

Ever since reading this months copy of Company Magazine, on an article titled 'shitblogz', i've begun to feel more and more guilty over the awful quality of my photos...
ANYWAY. A trend which I felt, until recently, only really had an affinity with furnishings, the brocade trend entered my life in the form of this amazing - I repeat- a to the mazing jumper. It's unlike anything i've seen before, so evidently when I saw it -bear in mind, the discovery of this jumper wasn't an easy process, with my arms weighed down with carrier bags of clothes, I did have to pull back about 30 jumpers on the rail until i saw this gem hiding at the back- whoever said shopping wasn't a form of excersise was lying- I had to stop myself from letting out a little shriek of excitement.
Keeping it simple, I decided to pair it with my faux leather skater skirt and my much adored Topshop boots.

Coated trousers and Wine Colours

Wine coloured faux fur coat-Beyond Retro
Jumper-Beyond Retro
Turtleneck-Used to be my Mum's
Coated trousers-H&M
Boots-Topshop
Bag- TK Maxx
Necklace- Used to be my Gran's

I'd like to start this post with an apology (arguabley, -ies). Firstly for the terrible quality of the photo's, it was starting to rain so trying to quickly get some outfit shots, coupled with the fact my mum isn't exactly gifted with the use of technology (especially touch screen phones) made life all the more harder and proved difficult. But yes, I'm still complaining on behalf of terrible photos despite having bought a new Nikon camera which has been used the grand total of once -It is still sitting in its box as we speak, maybe even still wrapped in packaging... However I would like to blame this on the fact I have no case for it. Secondly, I'd like to apologise for the regularity, (or not so) of my posts. I've been getting essays left, right and centre.
Anyway. I've been through a weekly matte legging phase, a leather skater skirt phase and now i'm on a trouser phase, excuse the generic blogger comment, but i really can't get enough of them. I paired these beautiful black coated ones with my black turleneck-obviously, and this perfect grandad-style, knitted vintage jumper-evidently. Taking a break from my trusty black faux fur, I decided to wear this beautiful wine coloured coat, as I felt it really brought out the colour similarities in the knitwear.

Oh and is anyone going to Clothes Show Live on Saturday ?
